i will take a look at the hypnoses site, i hope it helps..., coming in this site i noticed that i'm not the only one who has severe ibs c, i mean i always had ibs but it wasnt that severe, just pain in the abdomin and occasional constipation, but recently i had a lot of stress because of something personal, and it aggreviated not only my ibs but my cycles have been irregular and are on the way to adjusting themselves, also the fatigue is less, but ibs seems to persist although in less form than the time i ate a lot (burgers chips etc) thinking that i can resolve my stressful events...but it triggered a severe form of ibs c...that if i don't take fibre and water i can stay for weks without bm...sorry for writing much but no one in the real world seems to believe i have ibs they say it's all in my head only my gastrentologist knows about my condition...but still it seems that he is not willing to help.. he told me the probem can go away if i take a lot of fibre or stay and i have to be like this all my life...but fibre really helps...anyway i will take a look at the links..thanks for this page

Hey Alicia,

IBS-C doesn't respond to medication very well - but it does respond to lifestyle changes and stress seems to be a huge factor according to most research.

Here are three things to try:
1. Diet - See the "Foods for IBS" article here - http://goodbyeibs.com/diet
2. Exercise - Start with simple exercises like a 15 minute jog, and see if that makes a difference
3. Hypnosis - Try the IBS Hypnosis program to relieve stress and resolve long standing issues - http://goodbyeibs.com/hypnosis

Hey Pawan,

Hyoscine Butylbromide (Buscopan) is a doctor prescribed anti-spasmodic for relief of constipation and IBS.

But about 1 in 10 people suffer from side effects of it. As far as I know, if you do experience side effects, you need to talk to your doctor or pharmacist to make sure everything's okay and possibly shift to another anti-spasmodic drug.

So, I'd highly recommend you see your doctor and share this with him. He'll be able to diagnose your condition and tell you why this is happening.

There's a great article on this drug and its side effects here - http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/30002013/

And another one here - http://www.medicinenet.com/hyoscine_butylbromide-oral/article.htm

Of course, if you do have constipation/bloating, the natural remedies for that are drinking lots of fluids (warm water early in the morning is particularly useful) and extensive stress relief (try hypnosis for IBS). These are free from side effects, and will help you on your path to recovery.

Stay well, and heal fast :)
